Sardines

Okay, so everyone knows about the childhood game of hide and seek. Sardines is like an opposite version: one person hides and everyone else must split up to find them. Once you find the hiding person, you have to hide with them, hence the name "sardines," as everyone can end up pretty squished. Anyway, this continues until the last person finds the group, who now becomes the new hiding person. Last night a group of my friends and I all played this game and had a blast. However, once we got into it, no one trusted anyone else. People would begin to mislead others then sneak back to the spot where they actually found the hider. Everyone had to check everywhere for themselves, even if someone else just said that the hider wasn't there. This all made me think about possibly a higher connection to society. While we were all just having fun, what if something really did happen in the world? People may become frightened and just fend for themselves, letting everyone else suffer. I suppose it's like Darwin's theory of natural selection. It just made me wonder how all order could fall as chaos prevails in a selfish society such as ours may seem.
